US: Last week, initial jobless claims fell to 231K.

Compared to the previous week, initial jobless claims decreased to 231K.
Continuing Unemployment Claims fell to 1.920 million.


For the week ending September 13, there were 231K new applications for unemployment insurance from US citizens, according to a data issued by the US Department of Labor (DOL) on Thursday. The most recent print was lower than the previous week's 264K (reduced from 263K) and fell short of original projections (240K).

Furthermore, compared to the previous week's corrected average, the 4-week moving average dropped by 750, to 240K.

According to the data, Continuing Jobless Claims decreased by 7K to 1.920M for the week ending September 6, resulting in a seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate of 1.3%.
